The Team

Our policy has been to build an experienced and multidisciplinary team of experts from different backgrounds. Our team’s expertise includes: scientific research, teaching, business, communications and project management.

Position: General Manager
Qualifications: BSc Marine Biology and Oceanography
Background: For the past 13 years I have headed up AquaTT’s dynamic multi-disciplinary team to help bridge the gap between science and society.


marieke Name: Marieke Reuver 
Nationality: Dutch
Position: Programme Manager
Qualifications: MSc Animal Sciences, specialising in animal production systems
Background: I worked as an Education Assistant at Wageningen University (the Netherlands) and as a consultant at FAO (Italy).


olivia Name: Olivia Daly 
Nationality: Irish
Position: Senior Project Manager (Communications Team Manager)
Qualifications: BA Mod Environmental Science
Background: I previously worked under a Stagiaire Programme with the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government researching Ireland’s approach to communicating information about climate change.

Position: Project Officer (SeaofSkills, REvivED water, and supporting MaCuMBA)
Qualifications: BSc Biology
Background: I have experience in fresh water quality control, environmental flows prescription, nature conservation, taxonomy, sample preparation and analysis working as a biologist in an environment consultancy.

Background: Originally from Galway, I previously worked in the family business farming salmon off the west coast of Ireland.

Background: Previously, I worked as a mediator at Science Gallery, Dublin. I have also worked in the media industry as researcher for BBC London Factual and as production manager for Independent Pictures, Dublin.


Name: Georgia Bayliss-Brown

Position: Senior Knowledge Transfer Officer
Qualifications: MSc Environmental Management and Assessment, BSc Environmental Sciences
Background: With an academic background in marine climate change and 10 years’ experience in international science project management, I specialise in generating impact from research through targeted knowledge transfer to science, policy, industry and society.

Position: Knowledge Transfer and Impact Officer
Qualifications: MSc Environmental Policy
Background: Before retraining in environmental policy, I worked as military communications officer and a logistics and technical specifications assessor, and I am experienced in transferring technical knowledge to non-technical audiences. My MSc thesis looked at the perception of marine science and regulations among fishing communities.

Position: Project Officer (AQUAEXCEL2020, ParaFishControl, ATLAS)
Qualifications: PhD Evolutionary Biology, MSc Biology (Marine Biology, Zoology, Microbiology, Parasitology/Tropical Medicine)
Background: I have over 8 years of research experience working within the field of molecular ecology specialising in population genetics, from bacteria through salmonids to sharks. I have communicated science to the public as well as industry and policy, working within NGOs, and citizen science and outreach programs.


Name: Eva Greene
Nationality: Irish
Position: Communication Officer (EuroMarine)
Qualifications: MSc Global Change: Ecosystem Science and Policy, BA (Mod) Environmental Science
Background: Along with extensive “green” sales experience, I have been involved in a number of other science and communication related areas; placements in climate and energy policy projects, designing teaching practices for foreign language students, outreach for an Irish Marine NGO, and as content editor for new energy outreach website.

Background: I worked as a reporter and producer in radio and television news before re-training in science communication. My previous roles have included social media management, writing and editing for space agencies, and news and media relations for science organisations.

Background: I have experience across a wide range of communications, including print, social media and blogging. My MSc thesis focused on how science can be informally learned through playing video games. My interests include communicating science, and bridging the gap between science and society.

Nationality: French
Position: Senior Advisor
Qualifications: MA Political Sciences, MA International & European Affaires
Background: A qualified policy professional with >9 years’ experience, I have worked as an R&I Policy Officer and Deputy Head of a French regional delegation to the EU in Brussels (7 years), representing major stakeholders (Local Public Authorities, University, Companies and SMEs) to the European Institutions. Prior to that, I worked for 2 years as a Project and Policy Officer in the frame of 2 FP6 and FP7 projects on Space Technologies, Micro and Nanotechnologies. I also hold a Prince2® Certification in Project Management (Foundation).
